Deborah Staples*

Deborah has performed in over 125 regional stage productions. In addition to Door Shakespeare, some favorites experiences include Next Act Theatre (Henrietta in SILENT SKY, Juliana in THE OTHER PLACE), Milwaukee Rep where she is an Associate Artist (Billie Dawn in BORN YESTERDAY, Nora in A DOLL’S HOUSE, Jean Louise in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, the title roles in ANNA KARENINA, MARY STUART, and MIRANDOLINA, and everyone in THE AMISH PROJECT), Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (Miss Havisham in GREAT EXPECTATIONS), American Players’ Theatre (Amanda in PRIVATE LIVES and Phedre in PHEDRE), Writers’ Theatre (everyone in THE BLONDE THE BRUNETTE AND THE VENGEFUL REDHEAD, *Jeff Award Nomination), Illinois Shakespeare (Hamlet in HAMLET, Cleopatra in ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, and Elizabeth in ELIZABETH REX), Chicago Shakespeare Theatre (Desdemona in OTHELLO and Cressida in TROILUS AND CRESSIDA), Indiana Repertory Theatre and Syracuse Stage (Ann in ALL MY SONS), Baltimore Center Stage (Clover in ANIMAL FARM), and Wisconsin Shakespeare (Lady M in MACBETH and Kate in TAMING OF THE SHREW). Her film work includes PILOT ERROR, WATERWALK, BARABOO, DELIGHT IN THE MOUNTAINS, and very recently finished filming for COMING UP FOR AIR (lead & co-screenwriter). Deborah is also a voiceover artist, and is married to theatre artist David Cecsarini and mother of their two fabulous girls.
