Marcella Kearns is a Milwaukee-based director, actor, and theatre educator. A former Fulbright Fellow (Austria) and TCG Observership recipient, she holds an MFA in Acting from the University of South Carolina. Marcy serves as the Associate Artistic Director of Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and as an adjunct instructor of theatre at Carthage College, First Stage, and Marquette University. Formerly, she was the Education Director at Milwaukee Shakespeare, where she managed the company’s participation in the NEA’s Shakespeare in American Communities initiative. Selected directing credits include SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE CASE OF THE JERSEY LILY and VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST, and MOCKINGBIRD at First Stage. Favorite roles onstage in Wisconsin have included projects at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Forward Theater Company, Milwaukee Rep, First Stage, and Renaissance Theaterworks. At present, she is at work directing the world premiere of Alice Austen’s GIRLS IN THE BOAT at First Stage. She will next be seen onstage at Forward Theater Company in LIFE SUCKS in spring 2019.
